We're sure you must be wondering by now:
"What's up with the name? How is it, in any way, related to what you do or the industry you serve?"
To understand why we named ourselves so, you need to first understand some of our assertions about the present and the future.
The future as we see it:
AI will be an inevitable part of the future. Consider a future where 70% of social networking interactions involve AI bots. In such a landscape, the market will yearn for spaces where they can interact with fellow humans, craving genuine social connections.
People will seek spaces to gather. Sit-down cafés/ restaurants will become valuable third places in the future.
Cafés/ restaurants that will thrive in the future will serve amazing food, yes, but they won't stop there. They'll create experiences, build communities, solve problems for their customers, and contribute meaningfully to the social and economic fabric of their locations.
When everyone is using AI—they will converge on the same strategy, branding, marketing, designs, and end up building the same products and experiences. GenAI collapses all its users into the average middle.
Being different gets harder until eventually it disappears. The problem AI creates is a lack of differentiation, even as it artificially solves the lack of intelligence.
Even so, excessive dependence on generative AI tools can affect critical thinking skills. This is because, whatever function we delegate to AI is a function or skill that will atrophy in ourselves. There's always that trade-off.
We shouldn't be willingly surrendering our cognitive ability—our ability to think for ourselves—for the sake of convenience and efficiency.
We believe that doing so is an act of self-induced LOBOTOMY.
Aaaaaand that's why we named ourselves so—to bring attention to the problem. Our name represents our ideology and it is reflected in everything we do and who we do it for.
